Enjoy a full day exploring the unique architectural marvels outside of Mandalay. Paleik – an hour drive from Mandalay popular with pilgrims due to its ‘Snake Temple’. Then to Kyaukse -a smaller but beautiful upcoming tourist destination that is worth a visit. You will be surprised by some of the unique things to do and places you can explore at this hidden destination
You guide and driver will come and pick you up at the hotel. Drive about 1 hour travel through fields and farms before turning off the main road into the town of Paleik.
Upon reaching Paleik, go first to the snake temple. The locals believe this image brings good luck and, thus, they gather daily to wash the image and the actual live snakes. Watch this bizarre ceremony from a distance and step closer for a chance to touch the snakes.
After this unusual visit, continue to discover Paleik’s other sites. From there about 30 minutes drive to Kyaukse. Visit to Tamoke Shwe Gu Gyi – built by King Anawrahta in the middle of the 11th Century. Continue sightseeing around Kyaukse and transfer back to Mandalay in the late afternoon
